Meet Our Leadership

Chris Walling

Founder

Chris grew up in a military family that always included dogs. His love for them started very early. Chris moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, in 1986 and worked in construction. In 1993, he opened a roofing company and was blessed to serve the community there for many years. During that time, Chris began volunteering at shelters and spent a week in Utah at ‘Best Friends’ learning how to run a sanctuary. Soon, his love for dogs led him to put down the hammer and open a brick-and-mortar boarding facility with his wife Lisa in North Carolina. Through Canine World, they are excited to put down roots and serve their new community.
